I feel it is a strong companion to the Autodesk Civil 3D User's Guide. So far, I feel it is excellent, and I highly recommend it.
I can see how this could be perceived as a negative if you are looking for a book to learn how to use Civil 3D, but that is not what this book is for (hence the word "Mastering" in the title), and there are plenty of other books that do address that, if you just look around. I like that this book assumes that the reader already has at least a basic working knowledge of the software, and as such, doesn't have half the book dedicated to the rudimentary basics that I already know. It is not Civil 3D for dummies.Īlso, over the years I have personally gotten pretty tired of paying $50+ for CAD books that basically just reformat and repackage the Autodesk User Guides ("This is the Line command.") for most of the book, just so I can get a few chapters that I want out of it.
